International Credit Management Practitioners

CMP (int)

The CMP (Credit Management Practitioner) is the only global credential designed to recognise exclusively the experience of the Credit Management Practitioner and promote further investigation into relationships that promote career development.

The CMP certification initiative has come about through the collaboration of seasoned Credit Professionals from around the world. It was noted that a large segment of credit and collection practitioners did not have access or opted not to join associations, with mechanisms to further develop and promote their careers.

The decision was taken to address this shortfall and the resulting opportunity is the awarding of a CMP designation to candidates who successfully sit through the process.

Federation of Credit Management of South Africa

FCMSA

Credit Management is a function performed within a business to improve and control credit policies that will lead to increased revenues and lower risk, including increasing collections, reducing credit costs, extending more credit to creditworthy customers, and developing competitive credit terms.

The FCM was founded in 2010 to fill the vacuum that exists in having a united Credit Management Industry approach to all facets of credit in South Africa. The FCM is not a controlling body, it is a forum, comprised of partner organisations, companies and individuals, each of whom seeks to bring attention to issues that are of importance in credit management.

Each such partner that comprises the FCM maintains control over its operations or constituency.
